Orion Minerals bullish on BFS for Prieska project by end-2018

ORION Minerals, a Johannesburg-listed base metals exploration company, said it was on track to complete a bankable feasibility study into the Prieska Project zinc/copper project in South Africa’s Northern Cape province.

This following additional drilling results which yielded assay results on 13 additional intersections. The results support the viability of the project. Drilling began in May 2017. “We continue to be pleased with the progress on the Prieska Project resource drill out,” said Errol Smart, CEO of Orion Minerals in a statement to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

“Feasibility work, including provisional mine development layouts are reaching advanced stages and await the final block model which will be finalised when drilling is completed,” he said. “The block plans and mine layouts will then be fed into mine scheduling software to optimise the extraction plan and mine financial model.”

“We are on track to complete the BFS in late 2018 or early in the new year,” he said.
