De Beers registers sales of $505m, allows sightholders to re-phase smaller goods

ANGLO American said diamond sales by its 85%-owned De Beers in the seventh sight or sales cycle of 2018 totalled $505m which was on a near par with sales of $507m for the same period as the previous financial year.

Sales in sixth cycle were $533m, the group said demand was “stable” ahead of the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair which takes place this month.

He added that De Beers had provided sightholders with the opportunity to re-phase the allocation of some smaller, lower value rough diamonds.
