[miningmx.com] – THE Association of Mineworkers & Construction Union (AMCU) did not walk out of wage arbitration at the Council for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), the union’s president Joseph Mathunjwa said.
Speaking to BDLive, Mathunjwa said the union did not attend a meeting because it was for other unions such as the National Union of Mineworkers, UASA and Solidarity.
“That was a Uasa, Solidarity and NUM meeting so how can we walk out? We were not even supposed to be there. These lies are spread because they want to blemish AMCU’s name,” he told BDLive.
“AMCU is always being labelled, they are trying to manipulate the process, to push our members against us,” Mathunjwa said.
It had been reported that Mathunjwa muddied the waters regarding the aribration by leaving early.
