Hummingbird signs off on positive report for Yanfolila mine

HUMMINGBIRD Resources said the ramp up of its Yanfolia gold mine in Mali was progressing well with total gold recovered to March 14 at some 16,804 ounces of which 11,958 oz had been poured. The balance was in the circuit inventory.

Said Daniel Betts, CEO of Hummingbird: “We are delighted that the plant has performed so well and that the work carried out by our highly experienced team and contractors has so far been rewarded in ramp-up operations with 96% recoveries, over 3g/t head grade and a steady increase in plant throughput towards design”.

The company said in February that it intended to spend between $8m and $10m on exploration of Yanfolila in order to convert indicated and inferred resources to mineable reserves. “The company has over one million ounces of resources outside the mine plan which the company is targeting for conversion into reserves,” it said.
